Warning - you might poke out somebody's eye!

I saw the video above (via Make) today and knew it was something stoppingpower.info viewers would find interesting. 2400 rounds a minute of pure "eye poking" mayhem, this seems like a parent's worst nightmare. I especially like the "jump out and grab the gun scene" which frankly looks like a bit too much time spent watching Predator.

Body Armor Exposed!

Boing Boing had this link to the Modern Mechanix blog illustrating a version of wearable "shield" for Detroit police officers. I wonder how heavy this thing was, consider that looks like good old plate steel. Am I the only one that thinks it looks like a cousin to a dalek?
